In a site, there are lots of people working. These may be engineers, professionals, skilled and unskilled labours, managers, technicians, etc. Usually, variety of work is done at site at the same time. There is a central team managing these varieties of works lead by a site in-charge or manager of that particular work. Paying a visit to each and every corner of the site and making a decision on spot is a challenge. It is physically tiring and tedious job to visit each and every corner of the site every day, and then consult with the panel to decide the next move or the solution to the problem raised. It results in lots of changes and hence, wastage of resources and time; sometimes safety of the workers are questionable too.

Having gone through the above case, there is a deep concern to develop a smart device that can help quick monitoring and supervision as well as being safety equipment. At site, every worker, engineer, manager, etc. is instructed to wear helmet for safety, mandatorily. Thus, taking use of the helmet platform, it’s easy to implant a smart system on it to provide many useful features. This innovation binds the automation part along with the hardware part, where automation part is a small controller system and hardware being the helmet. The smart system is well-designed to provide optimized solution to the given case study. This smart tool consists of many modules like the microcontroller, camera, buzzer, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc. The site is sub-divided into imaginary regions or parts where an engineer / site in-charge supervises the work. An UI (User Interface) based app/software allows the central body to see each and every corner of the site through the engineer’s helmet and give instructions or alert in case of emergency, without being physically present at site. This makes the quality of construction much precise and ensures better safety of the workers. This device is eco-friendly. The feasibility of this innovation is a bonus as it is restricted in limited resources and hence low cost.
